What causes battery discharge?

However, depending on what software you were last using, software you have installed, or configurations of your system, your Pocket PC may not shut off. This results in a total discharge by the time you wake up. The most abundant problem comes from Windows Media Player. If this program is running when your system turns on, then it won turn off.


Another cause of battery discharge is caused by accidentally hitting any button on the Pocket PC unit. This causes the Pocket PC to turn on and it may never turn off (or if it does then it would take a long time).


The application is very simple. If your Pocket PC is started up by accident, then the unit will turn off when it detects inactive use (in 10 seconds or user defined). This prohibits applications such as Windows Media Player from keeping your Pocket PC on.
