This ia a great game!! Enemy units get tougher each level. Only draw back is graphics, more diverse units, and environments.

I gave it 3 stars because the application often crashes/quits in the middle of playing and there are also times in which it doesnt save my progress and i have to replay a previously conquered scenario. Otherwise its a pretty good game.

I really like the fact that you can play a AOE type game but I would like to see that ability to have units stand ground or maybe the ability to have units form different formations to guard buildings and the factories. Maybe I am just spoiled over playing AOE on my PPC but I do like the game and would like to see more mission packs like forest fire and a few more. Other than that I love the game!

If you don't know what Strategic Assault is, it's a simple but fun RTS game revolving around some unnamed conflict in the desert. In RTS games, the point is to gather resources and build buildings with these and construct units with which to destroy an enemy.Overall scale of Game: Strategic Assault lives up to the RTS criteria with five buildings (plus the main base and strategic buildings,) nine units, and fifteen missions with fifteen different maps. Forest Fire adds fifteen more missions and maps, plus new and interesting scenery. The missions are not repetitive and although there is no story behind them they are still fun to play, even several times. Most require very good strategy. The units in the game also have various strengths and weaknesses - I use all of them in missions.Graphics: There's not one spot in this game where the graphics look bad. The graphics in this game are not overly realistic but rather cartoon like (look at the screenshot.) The terrain is good with nice bridges and cliffs (terrain is part of the strategy.) One nice thing is that if terrain or units are in the way of a shot, it will hit them. Some other nice effects are the gun cannons that turn to attack enemies, and that units accelerate and turn when moving instead of instantly flipping around and speeding off. The only improvement for graphics would be more variety in explosions, shadows, and wakes (for ships.) Either way, when you conquer a battalion of enemy tanks with your own units, it’s a satisfying scene.Sound: The one part of this game which is a little below par. It needs more variety. There is only one track of music and the music isn't good enough to make up for that. Also, there is only one sound for shooting, one sound for explosions, one sound for machine guns, etc. Although the battles sound good, they all sound the same.Gameplay: This is an addicting game which is very easy to pick up. To select units, drag a box. To move or attack, tap. To get resources, capture strategic buildings. This adds an element of strategy to the game. The only change I'd want is some acknowledgement that a unit is moving, since sometimes you will select a unit, scroll to a different part of the map, tell it to move there, but by then it might not be selected anymore for some reason. There are many parts of strategy in this game. For example, to build a heavy factory, allowing you to build bigger units; or build several small ones at the light factory and capture more strategic buildings? Or to attack the enemy’s weakness quickly with fast units, or bring heavy units in as they recover? If you lose a mission, try playing it again with a new strategy (Unlike some games, you can replay any previously beaten missions.) The display in the bottom is very easy to use, too; for example anything needing building is under the build tab. Groups can be handy because units often become unselected. Radar lets you view the mini-map, select groups, and maneuver the map quickly (Switch to Radar during battles.) Info gives the unit name and its amount of life. Menu has sound controls, difficulty (I suggest easy,) exit, and hiding which is a nice feature – hide lets you basically discontinue your game and hides Strategic assault. Since there is no saving, you can hide your game and turn off your device. The AI is good, too. Enemies try to capture and defend strategic buildings. They attack your base and defend theirs. All units move to attack the enemy, and units attack anyone attacking them. A flaw is that enemies do not move when their target is hiding behind cover. Also, the enemy doesn’t always seize strategic buildings as much as they could, i.e. sometimes when my armies defending a strategic building are defeated, the enemy just sits there and sends a jeep up to capture it after a minute. Also, this isn’t a flaw, but on a small map an attack made by the enemy can draw units from wherever they were posted all over the map to follow

Fun game! Love how you build tanks and things fast. A simple game to pass the time. Beats selling lemonandes.
